Love the cookbooks by Maggie Brooks. They are easy, but very unique recipes with plenty of flavor. I appreciate the extra tips she includes in her books!

From Love of Cooking: Labor Day
Quite often, meals for Labor Day weekend are the same, year after year. This cookbook gives easy, tasty ideas for Labor Day meals. Tired of the same old sandwiches? Why not try a Ham Stuffed Baguette or Kickin' Pimento Cheese Sandwiches? How about Party Sticks to add a little variety? For beverages, there is a Classic Sherbet Punch, and for the grownups, a Peach and Cherry Sangria. Why have a plain potato salad when you can have a Mashed Potato Salad? Need to set it and forget it? Try the Crock Pot Chili. And, for dessert, the Grasshopper Pie. Lots of other great meal ideas, too!

I'm a big fan of both food and wine... and enjoying the two together! I found this site through the books of course. They're well written and easy to follow, but more importantly, the recipes are great. Keep up the good work!

I think that I have just about all of these books. The first one I got, I found myself using it so much for delicious new recipes that I couldn't wait for the next one to be published. These recipes are delicious and most of them are really easy to prepare. I didn't realize what a rut I had gotten into with cooking the same dishes all of the time. Thank you so much Maggie for showing me new and exciting ways to feed my family and friends.

I have all three books and have enjoyed them all. My daughter and I have been making some of the recipes, so far our favorite in "Side Dishes" is the Lima Bean Casserole. In "Salads", we have two favorites, Italian Mixed Salad and Blue Chicken Salad w/ Fruit & Nuts, and in "Soups, Stews, & Chilli", we loved the Spicey Chicken Vegetable Soup. We are looking forward to trying more recipes by Maggie Brooks.
